There are 4 main types of light bulbs you'll find in homes:
LED, Incandescent, Halogen, and Fluorescent. Here's the breakdown, no fluff:
🔌 Incandescent – The OG bulbs.
Warm glow, cheap to buy, but they burn hot and waste electricity. 💸
☠️ Being phased out in stores. Last about a year.
🔥 Halogen – A little better than incandescent.
Brighter, crisper, but still gets HOT.
Not as energy efficient, but good for task lights and track lighting.
Use 75% less energy than incandescent, last longer too.
⚠️ Contain a bit of mercury — don’t toss in the trash!
⚡ LED – The new king.
Uses the least energy, lasts 10–20 years, and comes in ANY style or color.
More expensive upfront, but saves $$$ long-term.
🎨 What’s the deal with light color? (Kelvin Scale)
🟠 2700K = warm & cozy (bedrooms, living rooms)
⚪ 3500K = neutral white (kitchens, bathrooms)
🔵 5000K+ = daylight bright (garages, workspaces)
🟠 Warm White (2700k) - The lower the number, the warmer the light. The higher, the cooler and crisper.
🧊 Daylight (5000K+) – Crisp & Clear Perfect for task-heavy spaces like home offices, kitchens, or garages. The higher the Kelvin, the cooler and more energizing the light.
🟠Bedrooms: 2700K warm LED🟠
⚪ Kitchens: 3500–4000K ⚪
🔵Garage or Shop: 5000K daylight🔵
👉 Outdoor lights? Motion or dusk-to-dawn is all that matters.
LEDs just make it better — brighter, longer-lasting, and no bulb changes for years. Set it and forget it 💡💪
